ABOUT US

The Health Physics program offers a Master of Science degree with an option to specialize in traditional Health Physics or Nuclear Nonproliferation. For students who select the nonproliferation option, the focus of the internships and the courses will be directed more toward nonproliferation studies. The traditional Health Physics program has been designed to provide students with the necessary theoretical and practical knowledge to become competent health physicists. Students in the program will have the opportunity to gain valuable experience in various areas associated with health physics, such as basic radiation physics, radiation detection and dosimetry, environmental radiation protection and radiation biology. For students who select the Nuclear Nonproliferation option, the focus of the internships and the courses will be directed toward the scientific aspects of nonproliferation and appreciation of the policy issues involved.
